This is a great list, thanks for putting it together. I have read a few and some others are now on my read list. Entangled life is one of the best books I have read in recent years. It opened my eyes to the interconnected natural world. It helped me get out of my reductionist mindset. There is a economy in the forest trading minerals, nutrients and water and fungi are central. And the definition of life and oneself becomes grey once understanding the roles that fungi play to support all life. As an environmental engineer, I find that nature is so far ahead of us in recycling wastes, we can never produce anything through technology that's even close to it's efficiency. Fungi are the best clean up crew.

Hey Matt!

Entangled Life is fantastic; I often listen to the audiobook version while I'm working and discover new insights each time. Though from this list, Sand Talk probably had the most significant impact on me! Highly recommend.

I'm currently reading Entangled Life – and I’m completely hooked! Mycology has long been one of my passions, but this book is revealing so much in such a fascinating way that I’m captivated by every sentence. It’s also the only book from the list above that’s been translated into my native language, which makes it even more special.

Thank you for this truly inspiring summer read 🙏

English, but I’m close to Canada so can hold a conversation in French; I’m also learning Spanish and Portuguese from coworkers right now!
